Pop Art Grafic Work by Christoph Heller
Christoph Heller's view is strongly graphic oriented. He relies on the contrasts between large white and black surfaces with a simple line design as structural contrast. He is looking for even more contradictions, namely the use of mathematical lines and curves within a leaf. Those lines almost always come from vegetative elements, like stems and fruits. He puts soft against hard; technical - which can also be a piece of furniture - against natural. The life between two poles that wants to be reconciled through a graphic solution within the leaf.

The style is rather strong influenced by the Pop art, as everything is kept simple and the content does not dominate the form. Most of the sheets are therefore rather decorative. A face, an apple or the dial disc of a telephone become equivalent elements. In all cases, the graphical element remains the primary purpose. The containing details act as a tool to get to this graphic and not vice versa.
